METER RFP Q&A

Would Jefferson PUD prefer the AMI Head-End Systems to be On-premise at the Irondale electric service center or Hosted?

On site preferred

Would Jefferson PUD prefer the MDM Head-End Systems to be On-premise at the Irondale electric service center or Hosted?

On site preferred

If an On-premise Head-End system is preferred, would the PUD like the respondent to include the price of the server/s? Or would the PUD only require the VM specifications, so the PUD can provide the necessary server equipment?

VM specifications preferred but would work with the vendor.

Will Jefferson PUD be considering the NISC MDM in-lieu-of other 3rd party MDM systems?

We want to look at both and see what would work best.

Can you provide the number of 50W devices the PUD currently has?

~ 250 to 300 replacing as they fail.

Can you provide the number of 60W devices the PUD currently has?

~ 5000

Can you provide a list and quantities of “third party devices” the PUD would like to transport data to/from the Survalent SCADA System?  Is section 4.3 of the RFP referring to existing third-party devices such as reclosures, cap banks and etc.? Or is this section referring to future third-party devices?

At this time we do not have any third party equipment, one example might be fault indicators reporting back. Part of the answer could be a MultiSpeak interface.

What duration of time will the PUD need for the deployment of “phase I” meters, and how many billing cycles would you like to run for internal testing? Or, to put it another way, what is your estimated phase I timeline before moving onto the additional phases?

We would want to complete phase 1 as soon as possible. Testing should be short if numbers are correct the testing is over.

Will Jeff-PUD or third party contractor be handling installations of electric meters and network infrastructure in both phases of project? Or is it the expectation that selected vendor will provide installation costs for one or both phases?

Installation is not a part of this RFP
