BOC passes 2022 Budget

At their November 2nd regular meeting, Jefferson County PUD’s Board of Commissioners approved a resolution adopting a budget for the 2022 calendar year. The $44M budget includes revenues from 2022 water and electric rate increases adopted in July of 2021 to help cover costs of ongoing capital repairs to aging infrastructure, increased supply costs, and to maintain key financial ratios.

The budget includes $3.5M in upgrades to the electric grid, and $633K in upgrades to PUD’s water systems, including a new wellhouse for Snow Creek, a replacement well pump, and a distribution pipe replacement. Fleet upgrades include a new truck for the sewer department, wire reel trailers, an electric vehicle charging station, and the PUD’s first electric vehicle.

The 2022 budget also includes funding for expanding fiber broadband services and adding staff to support new broadband development, though much of the broadband funding is dependent on the PUD’s ability to obtain grant funding. View or download the PDF below to learn more.
